INFORMATION FOR INCOMING ERASMUS+ STUDENTS

Nomination & Application Deadlines

  • Fall Semester: 30 May
  • Spring Semester: 15 November

INFORMATION NOMINATION & APPLICATION

  • Eligibility: There must be an Erasmus+ Inter-Institutional Agreement (IIA) between your home university and KTO Karatay University.
  • Nomination: When applying within a framework of an exchange agreement from a partner institution, you must be nominated by your home institution via e-mail to [email protected].
  • Application Documents:
    • Learning Agreement: You should prepare your learning agreement through the Erasmus Without Paper (EWP) network as an Online Learning Agreement (OLA).
    • Transcript of Records: Please obtain your recent official transcript in English from your home university.
    • Proof of Language Proficiency: Confirmation of English language skills (B1/B2 level as per the IIA).
    • Identification: A digital photocopy of the Applicant’s Passport or ID card.
    • Acceptance Letter: Once your application is confirmed, KTO Karatay University will send your home university an “Acceptance Letter” by e-mail, which is also required for visa purposes.

VISA

  • You may be required to obtain a Turkish “Education/Study” visa from the nearest Turkish Embassy or Consulate.
  • If you are eligible for an e-visa or exempt from visas, you can travel with a valid passport; however, always check with the consulate for the most current regulations.

RESIDENCE PERMIT

  • Registration: All foreign nationals must register with the Provincial Directorate of Migration Management within 30 days of entering Türkiye to obtain a residence permit.
  • International Office Support: Our office will actively assist you with the necessary procedures and appointment scheduling.
  • Residence Permit Documents:
    • Residence Permit Application Form (obtained after online application).
    • Photocopy of passport and four (4) biometric photos.
    • Valid Health Insurance.
    • Proof of Address in Türkiye (UAVT address code or rental agreement).
    • Receipt of Residence Permit Card Fee Payment (The fee is updated annually by the Turkish Government).

HEALTH INSURANCE

All exchange students must have valid health insurance coverage for the duration of their academic stay. The valid options for the residence permit application are:

  • Bilateral Social Security Agreements: Documents (e.g., AT/11 for Germany) obtained from provincial social security units stating the foreigner benefits from health services in Türkiye.
  • Private Health Insurance: The policy must explicitly cover the minimum requirements stipulated for residence permits in Türkiye. Private insurances obtained abroad are only valid if issued by branches or agents of those companies within Türkiye.

ACCOMMODATION

  • KTO Karatay University residence halls offer a modern and comfortable living environment.
  • Priority: International students are given priority in housing assignments; please fill out and e-mail the Accommodation Form by the specified deadline.
  • Services: The university provides transportation facilities between the campus, dormitories, and city center.

COURSE REGISTRATION

  • Process: Course registration takes place at the beginning of each semester during the two-week "Add/Drop period".
  • System: The International Office will complete your registration in the KTO Student Information System on your behalf based on your finalized selections.
  • EU Academy (OLS): For language development, students are encouraged to use the EU Academy platform. Mandatory language assessments for 2026 participants have been removed.

BEFORE LEAVING

Before leaving Konya, you must visit the Erasmus Office to receive your Confirmation of Stay and ensure your Transcript of Records is finalized for your home institution.
